10 Best Minneapolis Wedding Venues (updated for 2020)

While we love working all over Minnesota and western Wisconsin, Minneapolis is home and has some of the best venues out there. We wanted to highlight a few of our favorites!

Aria

There are so many reasons that Aria would top anyone’s list of best venues in Minneapolis. For us, it’s the ultimate “WOW” factor when you walk into the main space with their soaring 30-foot ceilings and old-world elegance that will be sure to impress your guests.

Within the space itself is memorable artwork, beautiful suites for your wedding party to relax in and so many amazing spots for photos that you will want to be sure to have your photographer capture you in all of them.

Originally built in 1889, this staple of the North Loop neighborhood (formerly the Warehouse District) housed the old Theater de la Jeune until 2008. This historical venue will ensure you have wonderful memories of your wedding day.

If you are looking for an intimate and elegant location for your wedding, with amazing food and service, Cafe Lurcat is the venue for you. Situated at the edge of Loring Park in Minneapolis, the huge windows look onto the park, and is right next to the downtown area for convenience.

From start to finish, the staff at Lurcat will ensure that each part of your experience there is executed flawlessly. The space itself is so beautiful that you can keep your decor very simple, or bring in pieces that enhance black and white tile floor, chandeliers and exposed brick walls.

Warehouse Winery

Just outside of Minneapolis in St. Louis Park is an expected find: a winery! You won’t find rows of vines outside and lots of wood barrels, but you will get an unending array of items in the space for guests to remark on and talk about, like a collection of old dining chairs on a wall, a variety of fun signage, and comfortable lounge furniture to relax in.

With an option to have the ceremony on site, and then opening the large garage door so guests can head outside after grabbing one of their exclusive wines at the bar, this space is full of surprises.

Solar Arts

The trifecta of attributes that is Solar Arts by Chowgirls could be everything you need: hardwood floors and exposed bricks; great location in Northeast Minneapolis; above a brewery. And because it is managed by the talented team at Chowgirls, you also know you will get first-rate food and service.

One of the most unique parts of the space is the glass enclosed room where dessert is typically placed. There’s an 8-foot long carved wooden table and a wooden bar once owned by Johnny Cash. During social hour, guests can head down to the second level, where many of the artists who work out of the space leave their studios open for exploring.

Mill City Museum

Nothing says historical for a Minneapolis venue like Mill City Museum. Housed in the original Washburn A Mill building built in 1874, the building was a hub for flour milling until 1878, when an explosion leveled the mill and much of the riverfront area. They rebuilt and started production again until 1928 when a fire took out most of the interior of the building. One more fire in 1991 left the ruins of the walls, which is how you see it today.

D’Amico Catering manages this venue, which means guests will enjoy delicious food and be waited on by a great staff. You can have the ceremony amongst the ruins of the old mill, and then venture inside for dinner and dancing. One of the more memorable aspects of this space is the ceiling in the main dining area, which adds to the overall modern feel. The Stone Arch bridge is basically right out back, so photo ops are easy to get to.

Day Block Event Center

Located on the second floor of the Day Block Brewing building and only a short hop to US Bank Stadium, the Day Block Event Center gets you into the downtown Minneapolis area, but still with easy access to the highway.

Exposed brick walls, hardwood floors and windows that let in a ton of natural light make this one of photographer’s favorite venues to shoot at. They also have flexible catering and bar options, which makes it a favorite of couples looking to really personalize the food and beverage experience for their guests.

While we do love Day Block, we will acknowledge it can be a challenging space to work in. We have done several weddings there, so we can help make sure you have all the details covered to have a successful day!

Minneapolis Event Centers*

Anytime you can have a wedding around the St. Anthony Main area of Minneapolis, you are in luck because you know that there will be plenty of fun spots to do a First Look and wedding party photos. One of the best venues in the area is Minneapolis Event Centers, managed by Entourage Events Group.

Three venues, each unique in their own way, are housed in the space so you can have your choice of atmosphere. The Grand 1858 has wooden beams and textured white walls give the space a modern feel and has a garden patio attached. The Riverside is immediately memorable thanks to the fiber optic chandelier that covers half the space and makes for an amazing ceremony setting. Finally, the View is the newest space which features an open floor plan and plenty of lighting, thanks to both natural and the black chandeliers with edison bulbs that give this space a rustic feel.

The Mansion at Uptown*

There are not nearly enough venues in the Uptown area of Minneapolis, so it’s wonderful to have The Mansion to help fill that need. Located in what was the original Minneapolis Library in the area and built in 1911, the Mansion exactly what you hope it will be from the name. Lush lounge furniture, dazzling chandeliers and a beautiful patio are waiting for you at the end of the red carpet you take up the stairs to enter.

This venue is also managed by Entourage Events Group, who will give your guests a memorable food and beverage experience. They will feel like they have come to the best dinner party at someone’s home in their whole lives!

Semple Mansion*

As one of the honest-to-goodness mansion venues in the Stevens neighborhood of Minneapolis, Semple Mansion is both historic and luxurious. Built in 1899, this award-winning venue lets guests wander every level, each with their own beautiful amenities to explore.

The basement level houses a wine grotto and space for the guys to get ready and hang out. The main level can host your ceremony, social time and dance later on, and has the one of the most amazing staircases in the city to make your grand entrance from. The second floor is where the ladies can gather to pamper themselves and get dressed. The third floor is where the Grand Ballroom is located. With chandeliers, beautiful molding and views of Minneapolis, your guests will need a moment to take it all in when they enter.

If you want a venue that is more off-beat, like beer and are looking to have your wedding on a Sunday, then you need to check out Bauhaus Brew Labs! You get the space to yourself and they have a large outdoor patio area that is perfect for a ceremony and mingling.

The inside event space is fun and colorful and is perfect for more casual events, with food trucks always being a popular option. You can dress it up or down as much as you want to, and guests can enjoy the fun variety of beers brewed right on site.
